During the walk, there will be the opportunity to learn about the history of Ķemeri through the ages, as well as to walk through the renovated historical Ķemeri resort park. The beginning of the tour is at the Ķemeri water tower.

Five finalists nominated for the Grand Prix after the results of the semi-finals of the Compulsory and Free Choice program will perform in the Grand Prix final of the competition. The Grand Prix final will be followed by a Closing concert by special guests vocal group FRAMEST and the Award Ceremony.

Description:

A musical meeting and conversation about the life and work of Ludwig van Beethoven with pianist Andrejs Osokins and a screening of the film “Immortal Beloved” (1994). The Immortal Beloved is a 1994 biographical film written and directed by Bernard Rose, starring Gary Oldman, Jeroen Krabbé, Isabella Rossellini and Johanna ter Steege. The film tells about the life and death of the legendary Ludwig van Beethoven. Along with the music that Beethoven created, the composer once wrote a famous love letter to an unknown “beloved”, the film tries to find out who this mysterious woman was.

The event is suitable for high school students and adults.

In 1906, painter Jānis Rozentāls opened a private art studio at 12 Alberta Street, Riga, where the artistic paths of Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš, Alberts Kronenbergs, Indriķis Zeberiņš, and Uga Skulme began. Rozentāls’ influence remained in their work for decades. The exhibition presents the stories of four notable Latvian artists, featuring works and materials from Zuzeum, the Latvian National Museum of Art, and other collections.

Vidvuds Zviedris’ solo exhibition “Once There Was Blue Grass and Green Sky.”

The exhibition explores the relationship between the individual and power, shared responsibility, and the impact on the human psyche.

The group’s work focuses on addressing social issues and taboo topics.
In 2025, after a creative break, three new compositions were released: “Testē”, “Nones”, and “Sazemējums”.

Amadeus is a 1984 American film directed by Miloš Forman. The author of the film script is Peter Shaffer, based on his 1979 play of the same name. The film is about Mozart and his rivalry with Antonio Salieri.

On the anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, the longest living fire in Latvia, “Path of Light”, is lit in Jūrmala. A string of 12,500 candles, 20 kilometers long, illuminates the city’s central highways from Priedaine to Ķemeri and Jomas Street, creating an atmosphere full of warmth and unity.

In addition to the “Path of Light”, Lāčplēsis Day and National Holiday events are held in Jūrmala – concerts, religious ceremonies and torchlight processions. The festive program is filled with musical performances, patriotic activities and a festive mood that unites in a common celebration of Latvia.

The performance “The Unknown Friend” is a refined literary and musical production based on Ivan Bunin’s short story of the same name. At the heart of the plot are fourteen letters written by a married woman and mother of four, living in exile, addressed to an imaginary lover — a Russian writer whose works have deeply touched her soul. These letters, filled with sorrow, hope, and spiritual longing, remain unanswered, yet they reveal the heroine’s inner world and emotional state.

The stage features two outstanding artists: actress Ksenia Rappoport, who performs Bunin’s text, and pianist Polina Osetinskaya, whose playing accompanies the narrative with works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Ravel, and other composers. Music and words intertwine closely in the performance, creating a powerful emotional resonance.

The director of the production is Valery Galendeev — a renowned stage speech coach and co-creator of many successful theatre projects.

The tallest elf in the world with helpers will take part, featuring songs, dances, and a visit from Santa Claus.

The exhibition “confluence” explores the interrelationship between women and nature from an ecofeminist perspective, emphasizing women’s connection to nature and their relationship with the patriarchal structure. The exhibition consists of four artworks: photographs of 7 Latvian poets created using the shapes of tree leaves, a moss carpet with video projection, as well as audio recordings of poems.

The exhibition also features an essay by the exhibition curator Amanda Kaufmane about Aspazija’s poetry and the origins of ecocriticism in Latvia.

The photo portraits reflect the image of women in nature, encouraging us to think about resilience, cyclicality, and nature as a persistent force with which humans are not in a hierarchical relationship, but rather closely intertwined. As artist Gita Sprince points out: ““fusion” visually depicts the interrelationship between women and nature, emphasizing both the fragility of both and their ability to stand against the perceptions imposed by society.”

The exhibition includes manuscript projections and interpretations of Aspazija's poems "Yellow Branch", "Dust Shower", "Oh, Even You!", "Lip Game", which reveal the poet's relationship with nature, symbolism and the inner self of a woman.

The exhibition will feature poems by Madara Linna Ēvalde, Anna Auzīna, Iveta Ratinīka, Krista Anna Belševica, Evelīna Andžāne, Grēta Volković, whose recordings were made in collaboration with radio "NABA".

The exhibition will be on display until March 1, 2026.

Photo and video materials can be published on Internet resources and used in museum publicity events.

The concert will feature the J. Vītols Latvian Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and string soloists from the Les Essences orchestra (Germany).

From December 11 to May 24, the Jurmala Museum will host the exhibition “A Doctor in a Resort in the 19th Century”, which reveals an era when medicine and society experienced rapid changes and resorts became an important part of the lifestyle.

The 19th century was a time of industrial revolution and scientific development in the world, which introduced new treatment methods, instruments and educational reforms. It was during this period that the understanding of hygiene, disease prevention and health improvement was strengthened in society.

During this time, a new profession also emerged – a spa doctor, which is closely related to the development of spas. The word “resort” came to the Latvian language from German, and at the beginning of the 19th century, resorts became an integral part of public health and lifestyle. In Latvia, the most important spas were Ķemeri and the Riga seaside, where the first swimming facilities were opened and medical practice began. Development was facilitated by improvements in transport – boat traffic and later also the railway line, which significantly increased the number of holidaymakers.

The exhibition also draws attention to the change in social habits, which in the 19th century became the basis of health culture. Regular hand and face washing, oral hygiene and the use of various water procedures became the daily norm. Water healing was especially popular, which was widely popularized by the German clergyman Sebastian Kneipp, who developed a course of treatment that was used both in resorts and at home.

The exhibition features items from the collection of the Jurmala Museum, as well as from the Bauska Museum, Daugavpils Museum of Local Lore and Art, the Latvian National History Museum, the Pauls Stradiņš Museum of the History of Medicine, the Riga Art Nouveau Centre, the Riga History and Shipping Museum, as well as from the private collections of Daiņš Sīļs and Artis Ērglis. The author and curator of the exhibition is Mārtiņš Vesperis, the artist is Ieva Lapiņa.
