Exhibition "Red Door" by artist Inga Jurova at Jurmala Museum

The exhibition "Red Door" by painter Inga Jurova (1972) is deeply personal and at the same time sheds light not only on her generation, but also on the feelings of society. The exhibition presents two closely related themes - the artist's family and Moscow Forstadt. A family photo album is a microcosm of history, an archive of images and stories drawn from memories. The second series is about Moscow Forstadt, which "I inherited from my father", says Inga Jurova. The artist idealises her birthplace, depicting the Maskachka apartment building as an 18th-century manor house - from a distant vantage point, surrounded by leaves in the foreground.
