We offer a boat trip on the route RIGA- Jūrmala (MAJORI) -RIGA. During the trip you can see the Riga passenger port, the Freeport of Riga, Kipsala, Andrejsala, Kundzinsala, Mangalsala, Bolderaja. From the Daugava along the Love Island, the ship’s path leads to Buļļupe, which connects Lielupe and Daugava. Sailing along the Bullupe, you have a view of Bolderāja, you will be able to see nature, quiet and romantic landscapes surrounded by reeds, as well as a park of stone sculptures. Upon reaching the Lielupe, a view of the ancient Lielupe estuary and the White Dune will open, as well as a great view of the Jūrmala panorama during the trip along the Lielupe.

Every Sunday at 12.00 from Jūrmala Tourist Information Center (Lienes iela 5, Majori) there is an opportunity to join an excursion around the center of Jurmala. The duration of the walking tour is approx. 1.5 hours, during which the participants will learn about the history of the resort town, see the most striking architectural monuments, and learn the secrets of Jomas Street. No prior application is required. The language of the excursion depends on the composition of the group (Latvian, English or Russian). The tour takes place if at least 4 people have arrived. Every Thursday in July, the Jūrmala Open Air Museum will host a series of events "Thursday — Fish Day". The event will provide an opportunity to watch a fish smoking demonstration, get involved in the fish preparation process and taste hot smoked fish.

The Jūrmala Museum will open the exhibition "Valdis Bušs 100. Connection". 
Valdis Bušs (1924 - 2014), a great painter, is 100 years old this year. His name needs no comment - the canvases, covered with large-scale palette knife strokes, shine with a vivid and harmonious variety of colours, awakening a hopeful mood in the viewers. "Valdis Bušs is such a beautiful sign in our culture," the painter Džemma Skulme once said. The artist lived in Jūrmala for 59 years, held his first solo exhibition there in 1972, and led the Jūrmala Artists Group for almost 10 years.  However, his name and the significance of his art have many times transcended the borders of Jūrmala and even Latvia, filling exhibition halls in Germany, Switzerland, France and elsewhere in Europe.

A new exhibition "Meeting Place" by artists Juris Bergin and Živile Bardzilauskaite- Bergin opens at the Aspazija House.

The two artists met in Jurmala in 1993 at a porcelain painting symposium at the Dzintari Artists' House of the Artists' Union of Latvia. In their creative search, they found not only their way to each other, but also their vocation in art, to which they have remained faithful ever since. "Živile's painting moved from porcelain vessels to canvas, and the style was developed in Jurmala in 1993. These symposia were also very significant for me, because when I was decorating the vessels of the Riga porcelain factory in the late 1980s, I had the idea of creating painted, sculptural three-dimensional works from porcelain with realistic images, which I then further polished in Jurmala," says Juris Bergins.

The exhibition "Meeting Place" is a tribute by Živilė Bardzilauskaitė- Bergin and Juris Bergin to the city where the two artists met. Although the exhibition mostly features works created in the last five years, it also includes porcelain objects created during the symposia held at the Dzintari Artists' House at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s.

Aquatic lyricism and politics in Barbara Gaile’s solo exhibition AQUA.WATER

Barbara Gaile’s intentions show both modesty and ambition. The artist’s choice to paint and draw nothing but fragments of aquatic surfaces casts her latest exhibition in the light of disciplined serialism, where every subsequent image is a surprise in terms of nuance and a repetition in the larger scheme of things which has a single focus – water.

The water’s imagery is straightforward, so Gaile’s latest output can be called aesthetic landscape. Gaile treats water as a physical and biological matter that yields to idealisation and sets a certain mood. She uses a conceptual approach where water has become (if I may call it so) a screen reflecting the sky, the time of day and its state of light, the wind and an invisible realm of aquatic flora and fauna that gives the water its colour and plasticity. Water and all its atoms become a scenic image. At the same time, every scene is a moment in the viewer’s consciousness.

All the exhibits are new and never displayed before.

Valdis Bušs (1924 - 2014), while living in Jūrmala, painted many landscapes of the immediate surroundings. Lielupe, boat piers, yacht regattas, sunset in the bend of the river, snow-covered houses, slender pine trees - these are just some of the scenes depicted in the artist's paintings. In the paintings of Valdis Bušs, we feel both the heat of hot summer and the spelunking of winter, and enjoy a magnificent sunset on the banks of Lielupe.
Painting was a way of life and a necessity for Valdis Bušs. The artist devoted every free moment to his great love - painting. During his long creative life, countless paintings and nature studies were created. Every day, the artist went to paint the landscapes of the immediate surroundings and was waiting for a vacation when he could devote himself only to painting. Not all works are given names, but sometimes a street corner, a characteristic river bay, a boat dock helps to recognize the depicted landscape.

The exhibition presents both known and unknown events, facts and pictures that tell the story of the Bulduri area.

 The authors of the exhibition do not pretend to be a comprehensive presentation of history, as it is only the beginning of further research of Bulduri in order to create a permanent exposition in larger spaces. There is still a lack of information and there are many uncertainties and mysteries, which, like the Bulduri coin deposit, which can be seen in the exhibition, have not been fully resolved.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Museum of History, the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Ęederts Elias Jelgava Museum of History and Art, the Latvian State Film and Photographic Document Archive of the Latvian National Archives, VAS "Latvijas dzelzceļš", images from the Latvian National Library, visual materials from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia were used. collections. Authors of the exhibition: Inta Baumane, Līga Strazda, Egita Cironokas, artist Gundars Gulbis.
