Peter Jansen's exhibition ''In the Silence of Light'' at Jūrmala Museum
- 26.April - 26.May
- Tirgoņu iela 29
Peter Jansen's exhibition "In the Silence of Light" reveals the diversity of the artist's creative handwriting and techniques, presenting works created in the Netherlands and Latvia. Light, silence and nature are the leitmotifs of the exhibition. His interest in Symbolism and Art Nouveau is evident in his work, and Jansen explains that in Romantic landscapes he is interested in the strong emotionality - the subjective factor - of nature's representation. He also sees this emotionality in ancient Chinese and Japanese paintings. "I see it in the transformation of tree branches, waves and clouds into expressive, emotionally charged forms, while at the same time maintaining a meditative calm."
Lija Rage's art exhibition "Graffiti" at Jūrmala Museum
- 26.April - 26.May
- Tirgoņu iela 29
Lija Rage about the exhibition "Graffiti": "On the train from Jurmala to Riga, you can see long walls painted on, where over time the drawings change, are repainted and added to. On the wall you can read poetry, exclamations that correspond to the times. These walls are like a kind of open journal or gallery, where the changing drawings and textual expressions reflect the passage of time, as well as the thoughts and feelings of society.
I combine this street art with my own drawings, digitally transform them, add my own message and weave them for a long time. I combine the relatively "fast" street art with the most time-consuming art form, classical tapestry, introducing a contrast between digital and traditional artistic expression. Tapestry is known for its time-consuming and meticulous nature, which contrasts with the speed and informality of street art. The exhibition includes years of work, from photographing, cutting, gluing, to weaving and cladding the works with visual elements."
Līvija Brigita Pavlovska's exhibition "Again" at Jūrmala Museum

The exhibition of the painter Valdis Bušs "Sun. Jurmala. Lielupe."
- 22.July - 20.July
- Bulduri Exhibition House
- Muižas iela 6
Valdis Bušs (1924 - 2014), while living in Jūrmala, painted many landscapes of the immediate surroundings. Lielupe, boat piers, yacht regattas, sunset in the bend of the river, snow-covered houses, slender pine trees - these are just some of the scenes depicted in the artist's paintings. In the paintings of Valdis Bušs, we feel both the heat of hot summer and the spelunking of winter, and enjoy a magnificent sunset on the banks of Lielupe.
Painting was a way of life and a necessity for Valdis Bušs. The artist devoted every free moment to his great love - painting. During his long creative life, countless paintings and nature studies were created. Every day, the artist went to paint the landscapes of the immediate surroundings and was waiting for a vacation when he could devote himself only to painting. Not all works are given names, but sometimes a street corner, a characteristic river bay, a boat dock helps to recognize the depicted landscape.
