Aan early morning hike will take place in the Ķemeri Bog, offering a chance to experience the sunrise, mist, frost, and winter scenery. The circular route is 4.5–6 km long, takes about three hours (including rest and photo breaks), and is rated as easy. The meeting point is the Krāču Kalni parking area near the Ķemeri Bog peat fields at 07:30, with the hike finishing around 16:00.

Participation fee: €30 for adults, €10 for children (ages 7–17). The price includes bog shoe rental, route preparation, and guidance by experienced “Purvu bridēji” guides.

Participants should wear waterproof hiking boots or rubber boots and bring snacks, a warm drink, and a change of clothes. The hike takes place in all weather conditions.

Just like in nature, where the earth is hilly, cracked or scarred, the variations and textures of artist Juris Petraškevičs’ drawings are revealed on their surface. French poet Paul Valéry wrote that “the deepest thing in a person is the skin”, because everything that is truly alive and real in a person happens exactly where he comes into contact with the world, namely on the skin. Similarly, Petraškevičs’s artworks are the boundary between himself and the world, the place of all sensory experience and the way to perceive both himself and others.

Juris Petraškevičs (b. 1953) studied graphic art, but his creative vision is not tied to one medium or technique. The author's works are characterized by process, continuous search and improvisation. The artist's thinking is also influenced by sound - contemporary music, jazz, the principles of which are echoed in his visual language.

“Abysskiss” is a fun pocket orchestra based on unusual instrumentation, one of the most unusual groups to have recently appeared on the French jazz scene.

The quartet is led by saxophonist Camille Maussion and guitarist Pierre Téreygeol. Both musicians are also composers. The two leaders are joined on this dreamy journey by Victor Aufray (euphonium, flugelhorn, voice) and Illya Amar (vibraphone).

Together they create music that is both very deep and airy, without stylistic barriers. It is a masterful music, in which jazz music gives preference to songs, folk music and contemporary music, and in which improvisation has its place.

The concert is organized in cooperation with the French Institute in Latvia.
