Celebrating the Autumn Solstice at Jūrmala Open Air Museum

22 September from pl. 17.00 - 19.00 at the Jūrmala Open Air Museum to celebrate the Autumn Solstice 
During the Autumn Solstice, everything in nature is ripe and at its peak - the harvest has been harvested, the cellars and barns have been cleaned, the fields have been cleared and nature has become silent.
Together with the folklore group "Milzkalnieki", we will explore the traditions of the celebration - singing and playing. Valdemārs Surgunds, a Melluži resident, will share his father's skills in making scale baskets, which were widely used in the past to make strawberry baskets. Baking bread is an art that must be loved and cultivated. Ance Bumble will share the secrets of bread making. In celebration of Miķeļdiena, visitors will be treated to Miķeļdiena soup, in which, according to ancient Latvian traditions, three meats, three grains and three roots must be boiled.
