Water Activities in Jūrmala
Jūrmala’s waterside landscape extends far beyond its beaches. The River Lielupe, its estuary and the bog lakes around Ķemeri offer a wide range of opportunities for active recreation. Visitors can choose a leisurely boat, motorboat or yacht trip, rent a SUP board or kayak, try water skiing and wakeboarding, or spend an entire day at a water park.

Forburga
Recreation on the River Lielupe
In Priedaine, the River Lielupe can be explored in several ways. The “Seko saulei” recreation centre offers trips on a leisure raft, as well as pedal boat, SUP board, kayak and rowing boat rental. The “Forburga” sauna raft, meanwhile, is suited to an unhurried gathering on the water with family, friends or colleagues.

Ski Wake Jurmala
“Jūrmalas laivas” also offers boat, kayak and SUP board rental. The company organises kayaking routes along the Lielupe and Buļļupe rivers, with opportunities to see the White Dune, the Lielupe estuary and the point where the river meets the sea.
Also located in Priedaine, “Ski Wake Jurmala” is a water-skiing and wakeboarding park offering lessons, as well as SUP board, kayak, and boat rentals. The activities are suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.

Explore Jūrmala by Motorboat or Yacht
The River Lielupe, its estuary and the coastline of the Gulf of Riga can also be explored from a motorboat or yacht.
The Jūrmala motorboat “Pērle” offers private trips along the River Lielupe towards the White Dune and the sea, while Arjahtu.lv organises trips by yacht, motor yacht, motorboat and catamaran from Lielupe and Buļļuciems.
SUP Rental and More Dynamic Water Activities
At Majori Beach, “SUP Brothers” offers SUP board rental. Depending on weather conditions, visitors can paddle either along the seashore or on the River Lielupe.
SUP boards are also available for rent on the banks of the Lielupe in Dzintari, at 1 Lejas Street. The offer includes independent and instructor-led SUP trips, SUP fitness sessions and two-person pedal catamarans.

For those planning to take a SUP board on a route of their own choice, equipment rental is also available from “Purvu bridēji” and “Lūzumpunkts”. Their collection points are located outside Jūrmala, so booking, collection and transportation should be arranged in advance.
At “Natura Park Jūrmala” in Sloka, visitors can rent boats and other water sports equipment. Fishing is also available with the appropriate licence.

Those seeking a more dynamic experience can try jet skiing at Asari Beach. “Delawake Wakesurf” in Jaundubulti offers wakesurfing and wakeboarding behind a motorboat, with all necessary equipment and instructor guidance.
During the summer season, scuba diving can also be experienced at the Sloka quarry through the VējTur travel agency. During the approximately two-hour individual session, participants learn the fundamentals of diving safety and practical skills under the supervision of an instructor. All necessary equipment is included.

Explore Ķemeri Bog and Its Surroundings from the Water
One of the most unusual water adventures near Jūrmala is a trip by SUP board, kayak or boat through the flooded former peat extraction area of Ķemeri bog. The routes wind between small peat islands and narrow waterways and can be explored during the day, at sunrise or at sunset.
Sunrise and sunset trips are not permitted from 15 August to 15 September due to nature conservation restrictions.
Another kayaking route in the Ķemeri area follows the Vecslocene River and crosses Lake Sloka. The approximately 10–12-kilometre day route leads through reed mazes, across the lake and along marshy sections of the river.
Spring and autumn are the most suitable seasons for this route. By mid-summer, the river may become heavily overgrown, making the route considerably more challenging. The service is offered by SeaKayak.
Organised trips with equipment and a guide are available from “SUPfit”, “Boards You”, “Advaita Adventures”, “FAB Adventures” and “Ozolaivas”. Depending on the organiser, the offer may include SUP and kayak trips, as well as excursions by canoe or other types of boat.

Līvu Akvaparks

During the summer season, an outdoor beach area and a terrace overlooking the River Lielupe are also open.
