Exhibition of paintings by Anna Laicāne "Pond and other stories" at Jūrmala Museum

In her works in the exhibition "The Pond and Other Stories", painter Anna Laicāne reflects on the feelings and moods of being in nature, which include encountering the unfamiliar, the surprising, tangling in the long stems of water lilies and observing the changing light of natural forms.
Anna Laicāne (1984) says of her collection of works in Pond and Other Stories: "Being in nature - in wet places, by ponds and lakes - evokes memories of reading Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows as a child. A story of adventure and a symbolic journey that offers a sense of fear, sadness and true joy. It involves encountering the unfamiliar, the strange, and there is no other way to experience it than to go forward. The animated film 'Hedgehog in the Mist' has undoubtedly left its mark on world perception. It reflects the journey and the friendships that are forged through hardship. The exhibition runs from 20 March to 21 April. Mon.,Tue. - Closed, Wen., Sun. - 10.00 - 17.00.
