Helēna Heinrihsone’s “FETISH AS ART” and Gustavs Filipsons’s “VISITORS” | Bastejs Gallery

From 22 July to 30 August, Bastejs Gallery at 10 Skultes Street in Priedaine will present two new solo exhibitions – Helēna Heinrihsone’s “FETISH AS ART” and Gustavs Filipsons’s “VISITORS”. Both exhibitions turn towards the human inner world, personal symbols and art’s ability to reveal deeper layers of consciousness. In “FETISH AS ART”, Helēna Heinrihsone explores the fetish as an object, image or symbol created by the individual and gradually charged with special meaning; lipstick, perfume, roses and the contours of the female body become central elements in both minimal and more expanded compositions. Gustavs Filipsons’s works created for “VISITORS” reveal the artist’s search within his inner world – each piece is conceived as an independent message, sign or marker on a path of personal growth.
