The summer solstice is the most beautiful time, when the days are the longest and the nights are the shortest! We invite you to celebrate this wonderful time in Jūrmala and celebrate the summer solstice in Latvian traditions.

17:00 Summer solstice celebration

Exploring meadow flower, flower wreath weaving, songs and midsummer celebrating with the Latvian folklore group "Mare"

20 JUNE

Jūrmala Open-Air Museum

(Tīklu iela 1A)

19:00-21:00 Summer solstice celebration

 Solstice event in Latvian folklore traditions with Latvian folklore group "Milzkalnieki".

Also, will be Cheese making and tasting

21 JUNE

Celebrating the summer solstice

(On the bank of Lielupe, in the swimming area of Ezeru iela)

From 12:00 – arrangement and decoration of the venue

19:00 flower wreath weaving, stories about medicinal plants, sauna rituals masterclasses. Theatre performance for children in collaboration with Latvian folklore group "Mare" and "Kokle"

21:00 Sunset welcome, fire ritual, lighting the pūdele (a traditional fire-lighting ritual), fire raft launching and celebration until sunrise

23 JUNE

Melluži stage park

(Mellužu prospekts 6)

21:00-02:00 the longest sing-along of the shortest night of the year. With Latvian jazz music band "Jelgava Big Band" led by Raitis Ašmanis and soloists - Normunds Rutulis, Aija Vītoliņa, Žoržs Siksna and Paula Saija

Kauguri beach

(at the end of Kapteiņa Zolta iela)

21:00-22:00 folk music band "Raxtu Raxti"

22:00 lighting of the Midsummer fire with the folk dance group "Vēlreiz"

22:15-01:00 Midsummer song ensemble with singer Ģirts Alsters 

01:00-02:00 dance and celebrate with DJ

Entrance to the public events is free.
