The World Tour “Futures” Beach Volleyball Tournament Comes to Majori

From 10 to 14 June, Majori Beach will become an international beach volleyball arena as Jūrmala hosts a World Tour “Futures” series tournament, with teams from 24 countries registered to take part. The tournament prize fund is USD 20,000.

The spotlight will be on current world champions Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova, who traditionally compete in Jūrmala in front of their home crowd and will be the main favourites in the women’s competition. Strong competition is also expected in the men’s tournament, where several leading Latvian duos will face the U21 World Championship silver medallists from Poland – Szymon Beta and Artem Besarab.

Athletes from major beach volleyball nations – Sweden, Norway, Brazil, Spain, Germany and Poland – are expected to compete on the sands of Majori, alongside teams from Australia, Uruguay, the USA and Canada. Latvia will have the strongest representation: currently, six men’s and five women’s duos have qualified for the main draw. In both the women’s and men’s competitions, 24 pairs will compete in the main draw, while up to 16 teams will take part in the qualification round, with eight of them earning a place in the main tournament.

In the women’s competition, alongside Graudiņa and Samoilova, Jūrmala will also welcome several promising and experienced European duos, including Marta Carro from Spain, the 2023 European U18 champion, who this season is playing together with Adriana Serrano, as well as their experienced compatriots María Carro and Paula Gutiérrez. In the men’s tournament, Latvia will be represented by several leading local pairs, including Edgars Točs and Gustavs Auziņš, as well as Ardis Bedrītis and Arturs Rinkevičs.

On 10 June, spectators will be able to attend the qualification matches free of charge. From 11 June, when the main draw matches begin, admission will be by ticket. Tickets are available at bilesuparadize.lv.

From 3 to 7 June, a competition will take place on Facebook, offering the chance to win tickets to the World Tour beach volleyball tournament in Jūrmala. Take part! The competition rules are available here.

Before attending the event, visitors are reminded that when entering Jūrmala’s special regime zone, a daily entry pass must be purchased for EUR 5.00. The pass is valid on the respective date until 23:59.
